wax or not to wax

Hi,

Did you know that cleaning your guitar with wax could cause problems later? First of all, wax does not clean your guitar it only gives a place for dirt to hide and build up over a period of time. Secondly, wax could cause a repair problem down the road should your guitar need a spot refinish. The wax permiates the finish causing a poor surface for the new finish to bond to. A cleaner on the other hand will not build up over time and it is safe to use on your vintage treasures. So I say no to wax, get a quality cleaner/polish that has no wax or silicone.
